Fees and funding

Certificate in Terrorism Studies - fees and funding schemes

There is a set fee for this online programme – completing the core and three elective modules. The current course fee is provided in the Certificate in Terrorism Studies course brochure and on the online application form

Modules are also individually priced for students wishing to take the terrorism studies course in stages, only undertake particular modules or complete additional elective modules in order to gain accreditation in more areas.

The course fee and individual module fee are reviewed annually and set in September for the following year.  Applications for future entry will be honoured at the rate in force until the new fees are announced, after which the new course fee is applied.

FEES

  • Certificate in Terrorism Studies (four modules of study including compulsory module): £1869 orUS$2990
  • Indiviudal modules (stand alone or in addition to the four for the Certificate): £599 or $958 (per module)

All fees are VAT exempt. There is a discount for enrolling early. Go to the Application Form for dates or download the brochure for the next available intake.

CURRENCY
The course fees are fixed in GBP and USD.  GBP invoices will include the option for paying in EUR at the exchange rate applicable at the time the invoiced is raised. 

DISCOUNTS
Group discounts are available for bookings of 5 or more participants.  Group bookings can extend across up to 3 intakes in order to secure maximum discounts.

An early enrolment discount is offered for each intake.

ELC SCHEME
The Certificate in Terrorism Studies course qualifies for financial support from the Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme for eligible current and former members of the UK armed forces.

IBC Academy/ Informa UK Ltd (the course manager for the University of St Andrews) is an approved learning provider on the ELC scheme (Provider number 2035). To check if you are eligible and for more information about the scheme please visit www.enhancedlearningcredits.com.

If you are applying for ELC funding, you must quote IBC Academy/ Informa UK Ltd as your learning provider (provider number 2035) on your CAN.  Participants who state University of St Andrews as the learning provider will have their CAN rejected and you will have to request the form is amended.  This can delay the processing of your application so please ensure you quote the correct provider details as well as course fee and your chosen start date, in order to ensure your claim can be dealt with promptly.

For participants who are receiving ELC funding, please state this on your application form. Please ensure that in the billing address you state where the invoice for your part of the fees should be sent to and also confirm the amount you are due to pay. As soon as you receive your Claim Authorisation Notice (CAN), please send the original (keeping a copy for yourself) to the address shown on the application form. Please note that photocopies, faxes or scans cannot be accepted.

GI BILL FUNDING
USA military personnel may qualify for funding via the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for overseas e-learning/distance learning.  The University of St Andrews has a VA certifying official who will provide the required evidence that you are undertaking the course.  For further information on GI Bill funding, please visit www.gibill.va.gov.

THE MARINE SOCIETY
The Marine Society is the leading and most experienced not for profit organisation supporting the wellbeing, personal and professional development of seafarers and shore-based maritime professionals.
