The revised syllabus will assist delegates to demonstrate and achieve qualified expert status, as required by the Euratom Directive (96/29/Euratom) and is based on that set out under UK regulations on the knowledge and training required by a Radiation Protection Advisor (the equivalent of a qualified expert).
Workshops will provide useful material to delegates in developing their portfolio of education, training and experience and so support their attainment of qualified expert status (this course has a maximum of 27 points under the SRP CPD Scheme, although for all those taking the optional assessment, this figure doubles to 54).
Presentations are made in the style of tutorials rather than lectures, and an important aspect will be the ample opportunities given for discussion with the speakers and with other delegates both during the day and also during the social gatherings arranged each evening as part of this residential course. These courses are suitable either as a refresher for those well established in the field or as a thorough introduction to newcomers.
